"Al-Quds is the cause of the Ummah nation. Abandoning it or changing its identity will be a disgrace," said Ali al-Qaradaghi, Secretary-General of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, related to the US' decision to move its embassy to Al-Quds.

"We urge everybody uprising against this decision," said al-Qaradaghi. "It is not acceptable that the US decided Al-Quds as the capital of zionists. The President of the United States wants to present Al-Quds, the lands of Palestinians, which is under the occupation of half a century, at the anniversary of the occupation to the zionists," he added.

Al-Qaradaghi also addressed the Arab and Muslim leaders "Surely the responsibility of the Masjid al-Aqsa and Jerusalem is on your shoulders. Because Allah has linked Masjid al-Haram with Al-Quds. You should try all the ways against this despot and aggressive attitude of America. This decision of the President of the U.S. means a declaration of war against the Islamic Ummah. Because Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Muslims and Palestinians."

At the end of his statement, Qaradaghi said: "This attempt to invade is not acceptable and totally illegal. The trick of 'the Palestinian issue should be solved within the framework of legal rights and international observers,' should come to an end."
