13 irregular migrants dead from hypothermia in eastern Turkey

At least 13 irregular migrants lost their lives due to freezing cold in Çaldıran district of Van province, near Turkey- Iran border on Sunday, the office of governor said in a statement. It

"The incident will be investigated thoroughly when the weather conditions return to normal," it added.

Turkey, which sits at the crossroads of three continents, is hosting nearly 5 million migrants currently.
