181 targets have come under fire: Turkish Defense Ministry
Turkish Ministry of National Defense said 181 targets have come under fire in the cross-border operation.
Turkey's campaign to the east of the Euphrates to establish a safe zone began with the hit of YPG targets in Ras Al-Ayn. Then a ground operation began to the east of the Euphrates.
"Our Turkish Armed Forces and the Syrian National Army have begun ground operations to the east of the Euphrates as part of Operation Fountain of peace," the Ministry of National Defense posted on Twitter on Wednesday.
"A total of 181 targets belonging to the terrorist organization have been fired on so far by Air Force elements and fire support vehicles," the ministry added.
Warplanes also struck YPG/PKK targets at a depth of 30 kilometers. The Rami Air Base and its arsenal around Ayn Isa district and targets in the villages of Aluk, Mustel, Assadi, Fender, and Hushan were bombed by warplanes.
