37 kg of cannabis seized in eastern Turkey
Turkish police seized 37 kg of cannabis in the Tuşba district of Turkey eastern province on Monday.
The cannabis was seized during a search in a field in the Alabayır neighborhood, the Van Governor’s office said in a statement.
An investigation was launched to identify the owner of the cannabis, according to the statement.
Turkey maintains strict laws against the use, possession, or trafficking of illegal drugs. If convicted under these offenses, one could receive a heavy fine or a prison sentence of 4 to 24 years.
