​9,134 people have died from the virus, including 46 doctors in Italy, the epicenter of Europe's pandemic and the most virus deaths of any nation in the world.

While 86,498 cases have so far confirmed with coronavirus in the country, 10,950 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.

On 19 March, Italy became the country with the highest number of confirmed deaths in the world.
