4,700 people detained in a week
4,700 people reportedly detained last week in operations conducted throughout Turkiye said Turkish Interior Ministry.
Ministry of Interior reported that 4,700 people detained last week in countrywide operations.
The Ministry of the Interior announced the results of operations conducted between February 26 and March 5, 2018.
In the context of the statement, in the last week, 79 of the operations were carried out, 216 people detained due to helping, abetting and allegedly contacting the PKK, 37 from the extreme left, 46 from Daesh, 765 from FETO, 3 thousand 530 from drug and trafficking offenses and irregular migration; a total of 4 thousand 698 people were taken into custody.
In the operations carried out throughout the country, 7 PKK killed in the past week, 8 PKK laid down arms and surrender, delivered, 2 PKK were captured. In the statement, it was stated that 3 persons were arrested on the grounds that they were members of Daesh and Tahrir al-Sham.
