56 percent of Syrians want to return to their country
A survey by the University of Gaziantep shows that 56 percent of Syrian refugees want to return to the country when the appropriate conditions are formed.
The Syrian refugee survey conducted throughout the city by the Sociology Department of Gaziantep University was published in Turkish, Arabic and English by the Institute of Migration.
Prof. Ali Gür, Rector of Gaziantep University, held a press conference with the aim of evaluating the book and the results of the research and sharing it with the world public.
Stating that the book, which is the first publication of the Institute of Migration related to the Syrians lives in Gaziantep, Rector Ali Gür said it has revealed striking results about Syrians in the city.
Saying that the survey based on the details included 79 questions, conducted in 194 neighborhood of Gaziantep, 129 houses and individuals face-to-face interviews with 824 people.

Rector Gür stated that in March 2011, the Arab Spring was unexpectedly turned into massacres in a way that could not be stopped by the reflection of Syria. "Within a distance of 950 km, we embraced all of them Kurdish, Turkmen, Arab and Circassian. We did not even say Ezidi, Christian and Muslim. We welcome everyone who was oppressed. 3 million 550 thousand people came to Turkiye. We are proud of this."

"The future of Syrians in Turkiye is the most hotly debated in recent years. In the study, Syrians in Gaziantep were asked to return to their countries and 56 percent stated that they intend to return when the appropriate conditions were met, while 13 percent expressed their views on going to another country," Gür said.
