A written statement releases after Turkish NSC meeting in Ankara
In the written statement issued after the meeting, it was stated that all aspects of the important internal and external developments, which concern Turkey’s security, were discussed.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan chaired the National Security Council meeting at the Presidential Complex.
The written statement emphasized that , issued after the National Security Council (NSC) meeting chaired by President Erdoğan, read: "It was highlighted that no faits accompli will be allowed in Syria and that the right to self-defense will be exercised, and it was strongly emphasized that Turkiye will not remain indifferent to the PKK/PYD-YPG changing the demographic structure by oppressing the people in the region and forcing them to migrate."
Noting that the Council was briefed on the border security and the operations conducted at home and abroad against all terrorist organizations, first and foremost Fetullah Terrorist Organization/Parallel State Structure (FETO/PSS), PKK/PYD-YPG and DAESH, which threaten Turkiye’s national unity and solidarity.
"It was pointed out that the struggle to ensure the safety of life and property of our citizens against the threat, stemming from the presence of the terrorist organizations nesting in Syria and Iraq, and targeting Turkiye’s southern borders, will determinedly and uninterruptedly continue," the statement read.
Stressing that the fact that some countries do not see pre-designed terrorist organizations FETO/PSS and PYD-YPG, the Syrian branch of PKK/KCK, as terrorist organizations is gravely undermining the global fight against terrorism, the statement continued as follows: "It was underscored that the issues agreed on at the Quadrilateral Summit held in Istanbul will contribute to peace both in Syria and the region, and the importance of making the ceasefire in Idlib permanent by creating a heavy weapons-free zone there was highlighted. Additional measures that need to be taken in this respect were assessed."
It was further pointed out in the statement that during the meeting, the importance of the immediate formation of the Constitutional Committee, which will work under the supervision of the United Nations to find a permanent solution in Syria, and of the implementation of the pre-set roadmap was also underlined, and the parties were called on to act reasonably and rapidly to that end.
"Turkiye is in favor of Syria's territorial integrity and political unity”
The written statement read: "It was pointed out that Turkiye has been in favor of Syria’s territorial integrity and political unity, and has strived to establish peace since the beginning, and that the greatest threat to the political resolution comes from the terrorist formation east of the Euphrates."

It was underscored that the operations conducted by the Turkish Armed Forces against the presence of PKK/KCK terrorist organization, which pose a threat to our country’s national security, in Iraq will continue, and it was reiterated that Turkiye stands by the Iraqi nation and government against all terrorist organizations, including PKK/KCK and DAESH."
"No developments against the rights and interests of Turkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will be allowed"
Noting that Turkiye’s rights and interests in the Aegean Sea and the East Mediterranean were also evaluated within the framework of the latest developments, the statement concluded as follows: "It was highlighted that the unilateral attempts that violate the international law, and the confrontational initiatives in the region will not contribute to regional and global peace and that our determination, which is in line with the international law and based on the will of our parliament, should be paid heed to.
"It was reaffirmed that no developments against the rights and interests of Turkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will be allowed."
