Agreement for Arakanese to return their country
Bangladesh and Myanmar governments have agreed on Arakanese Muslims, those fleeing from the attacks of Myanmar army and Buddhist gangs, to return their country.
It was stated that the agreement was reached for Arakanese Muslims to return their country, who fled to Bangladesh from their country from the attacks of Myanmar army and Buddhist gangs.
Myanmar Foreign Minister and Minister of State for Presidential Aung San Suu Kyi and Bangladesh Foreign Minister Mahmoud Ali met in Myanmar.
After an hour-long interview, it was announced that both sides had signed an agreement entitled "Compromise on the Return of Persons Displaced from Arakan State".
"We are ready to get Arakanese back as soon as possible," said Myanmar Ministry of Labor official but the specified date was not given for the return of Arakanese Muslims.
It is thought that the number of Arakanese Muslims who migrated to Bangladesh after the attacks of the Myanmar army and Buddhist gangs exceeded 650 thousand. The Myanmar army is accused of ethnic cleansing because of systematic violence against the Muslim population.
