Agricultural producer price index in Turkey rises by 22.80% in July
The producer price index of agricultural products (Agriculture-PPI) increased by 22.80% annually and 1.34% monthly, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Monday.
Agriculture-PPI (2015=100) on the previous month increased by 1.34%, on December of the previous year increased by 10.42%, on the same month of the previous year increased by 22.80%, and on the twelve months moving averages basis increased by 20.72% in July 2021.
Compared to the previous month in sectors; forestry products and related services increased by 0.61%, products of agriculture, hunting, and related services increased by 1.33%, and fishing products and other fishing products increased by 2.54%. Regarding monthly changes by main groups; non-perennial crops increased by 0.51%, live animals and animal products increased by 0.53% and perennial crops increased by 4.26%.
The highest annual increase was 41.67% in the fiber plants subgroup
In July 2021, cereals (except rice), leguminous crops and oil seeds with 35.04% and pome fruits and stone fruits with 34.27% were the subgroups where high increase realized. On the other hand, vegetables and melons, roots and tubers with 2.06%, rice (in hulk) with 7.13% and oleaginous fruits with 11.51% were the subgroups that indicated low annual increase.
The highest monthly increase was 3.36% in the pome fruits and stone fruits subgroup
In July 2021, other farmed animals and animal products with 1.94% and cereals (except rice), leguminous crops and oil seeds with 1.48% were the subgroups where high increase realized. Rice (in hulk) with 0.31% and dairy cattle, live and raw milk from dairy cattle with 0.38% were the subgroups that indicated low monthly increase. On the other hand, poultry, live and eggs with 1.40% was the subgroup where the most monthly decrease realized.
In July 2021, within average prices of 87 items in the index; the average prices of 28 items decreased and the average prices of 11 items remained unchanged while the average prices of 48 items increased.
