"American President seemed to have let things go off the rails"
Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım reminded that the US threatened the member states because of being alone in the presence of the UN Security Council in Jerusalem by saying "the President of the United States seemed to have let things go off the rails."
Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım reacted to the threatening words of US President Donald Trump before the vote in the UN General Assembly.
Criticizing the US' Jerusalem decision, Yıldırım said: "The unilateral decision taken by the US on the Jerusalem to be recognized as the capital of israil, denied once again in the Leaders of Organization of Islamic Cooperation Summit under the leadership of Turkiye. East Jerusalem announced the capital of Palestine. In the session of the UN Security Council, the United States has been alone against the 14 members in security council members, and as a last resort has come to the point where the US began to threaten to 'vote against the United States' at the General Assembly."
Yıldırım said, noting that the U.S. president seemed to have let things go off the rails by saying, “'If you vote against the U.S. we will not give you money, mind your step.' The US president once again should understand that it does not matter how stronger you are, every country is free, has its own flag, can make independent decisions. Being powerful does not mean to be right. The one who is right is the stronger all the time. This is the justice."
