Mustazafs Association Diyarbakır Branch, a southeastern province of Turkiye, held a mass press conference for attacks carried out against two mosques in New Zealand, while dozens of Muslims were martyred and wounded.

Political party and NGO representatives in the city and a large number of citizens attended the press statement after Friday prayers held in the Grand Mosque.

The funeral prayer was performed for the Muslims who were martyred in the attack before the press release. Muzaffer Beber read the press release on behalf of the Mustazafs Association Diyarbakır Branch.

Reading a verse from the Holy Qur'an: "And who are more unjust than those who prevent the name of Allah from being mentioned in His mosques and strive toward their destruction. It is not for them to enter them except in fear. For them in this world is disgrace, and they will have in the Hereafter a great punishment. [Al-Baqarah - 114]", Beber then read another verse: " O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are [in fact] allies of one another. And whoever is an ally to them among you - then indeed, he is [one] of them. Indeed, Allah guides not the wrongdoing people. [Al Ma'idah 51]."

Beber said that those who take it as a duty to attack Muslims are attacking Muslims at every opportunity, and this time they targeted Muslims in New Zealand. "As the attacks on Muslims all over the world continue, news from New Zealand reveals the dimensions of the 'Crusader terror'."

"The name of this event, in which dozens of Muslims were martyred and wounded, is 'terrorism'. This is not madness; it is a planned, organized attack of the Crusader's terrorists."

"Those who disregard Islamic values from the past to the present and who have attacked Islam and its sanctities have today again attacked Muslims with the same barbarism. This attack is the manifestation of hostility towards Islam [Islamophobia]."

"While imperial states occupy our lands, on the one hand, their servants are mercilessly shedding the blood of our brothers in the West on the other hand. This latest atrocity is an indication of the hypocrisy of Western countries when it comes to Muslims."

Stating that the increasing attacks on Muslims in Europe in recent years, especially targeting women in hijab and mosques, were indicators of these days, Beber noted that Western states, which did not take precautions in advance in this terror attack and did not impose deterrent punishments on Muslims, are also responsible. "They are trying to extinguish the light of Islam, but they will never reach their goal."
