An armed attack was carried out on the convoy, including the Legislative Assembly member Tirong Aboh in the Tirap region of Arunachal Pradesh province in India.

Eleven people were killed in the attack, including Aboh and his son while the statement made that 2 people were seriously injured.

Tirong Aboh, a member of the National People's Party (NPP) in the Tirap region, said he had previously was threatened with death by an armed group.

It was claimed that the militants of the Nagaland National Socialist Council could have carried out the attack.
