Bomb attack targets Turkish contractors in Mogadishu, Somali: 11 wounded
At least 11 people were wounded in a bomb attack targeting a group of Turkish contractors on Saturday in northwest of the Somali capital Mogadishu.
According to the local reports, a youth gathering house in Yaqshid district was targeted in a grenade attack, 11 people were wounded, including 4 Turkish citizens.
The wounded, including three who sustained life-threatening injuries, were taken to hospital.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
On 28 December 2019, a suicide truck bomber killed at least 85 people at a police check point in Mogadishu, Somalia. More than 140 others were wounded and, as of 31 December, 12 people remained missing. Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack on 30 December. The attack was the deadliest in Somalia since the 14 October 2017 Mogadishu bombings, which killed 587 people.
