Çavuşoğlu attends Global Coalition Against DEASH Ministerial Meeting
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu attended Global Coalition Against DEASH Ministerial Meeting in Washington on 14 November 2019.
Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that Turkey was the only Coalition country to fight DEASH in close combat.
Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized that PYD/YPG was the same as DEASH and that the fight against these organizations could not be conducted by cooperating with illegal organizations.
Minister Çavuşoğlu met with Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod of Denmark, Foreign Minister Ann Linde of Sweden, Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto of Finland and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Winston Peters of New Zealand in the framework of the Global Coalition Against DEASH Ministerial Meeting and shared information on Turkey's 'Operation Peace Spring'.
Minister Çavuşoğlu also met with Foreign Minister Mohamed Taher Siala of Libya in the framework of the Global Coalition Against DEASH Ministerial Meeting.
Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that Turkey's support to the Libyan people and the legitimate Libyan government would continue.
Minister Çavuşoğlu stressed that Turkey's support for lasting peace in Libya under the auspices of the United Nations would continue.
On the same day, Minister Çavuşoğlu also met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassin Al Thani of Qatar and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi of Jordan.
Later that day, Minister Çavuşoğlu shared information on 'Operation Peace Spring', Turkey's fight against terrorism and Turkey's Enterprising and Humanitarian Foreign Policy at the Atlantic Council.
