After 6,485 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,318,295 in the country.

There are at least 4,415 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than, 1,107,011 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.

So far, at least 8,422,554 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
