Coronavirus: Iran reports 7,298 new cases, 58 deaths in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 58 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 58,809, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Friday.
After 7,298 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,503,753 in the country.
There are at least 3,762 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than, 1,285,014 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
So far, at least 9,938,625 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 2,380,746 with 108,380,779 cases and more than 80,430,576 recoveries.
