ANKARA-On the grounds that the Myanmar Government committed genocide crimes against Rohingyalı Muslims, a criminal complaint was issued to Public Prosecutor of Ankara, Turkiye, against 22 senior executives of the Republic of Myanmar.
Lawyer Hasan Bozdaş announced that he issued a criminal complaint to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against 22 senior executives of the Republic of Myanmar on the grounds that they committed genocide crimes against Rohingya Muslims.
Bozdaş explained from the social media account that he issued a criminal complaint based on the report of the UN Myanmar Independent Research Commission and the decisions taken in the preliminary hearing of the International Criminal Court. He said he hoped the application would be turned into a public case as soon as possible.
Bozdaş said that the issued crime complaint also represent a denunciation issue at the same time. "The criminal complaint I have issued is based on the report of the UN Myanmar Independent Investigation Commission and the decisions taken in the preliminary examination of the International Criminal Court, which is also a denunciation issue at the same time."
"The genocide and humanity crimes have been systematically exposed as government policies for decades by the governments of the Republic of Myanmar and by the army and by the support of Buddhist extremists and armed Rakhine gangs such as the 969 Movement," he said.
"The Myanmar rulers who have committed crimes against the Rohingya people have to be tried in our courts," Bozdaş added.
Expressing as it is important for the problems of the Rohingya Muslims be on the agenda, to put the international law into effect and to put the Myanmar state under pressure, Bozdaş invited all human rights organizations to take action.
