DİMED condemns Egyptian military junta for the detention of Anadolu Agency staff
Diyarbakir Media Members Association (DİMED) has condemned Egypt's military administration for the detention of Anadolu Agency staff in a written statement on Thursday.
"The persecution of the Sisi administration continues in all areas. Encouraged by the lack of worldwide reactions to the oppression and rights abuses in the country, the country's ruling military junta do not hesitate to imprison journalists," DİMED said.
"Number of journalists imprisoned in Egyptian prisons during Sisi administration has exceeded 100," it underlined.
Egyptian security forces carried out a raid on Anadolu Agency (AA) Cairo Office and detained some of the office staff on Tuesday.
