Dozens injured as zionist gangs quell anti-settlement protests in West Bank

Dozens of Palestinian citizens and foreign activists on Friday afternoon were injured when zionist gangs attacked protests against settlement and land seizure in the West Bank.

Local sources said that the zionist gangs violently quelled a demonstration condemning settlement construction and voicing support for journalist Mu'ath Amarneh in Surif town near al-Khalil.

They added that scores of demonstrators were injured as the zionist gangs heavily fired stun grenades and tear gas canisters at them.

The zionist gangs further assaulted the press crews who were covering the demonstration and forced them out of the area.

The demonstration was launched after dozens of Palestinian citizens performed Friday prayer on lands threatened with confiscation in favor of settlement expansion in Surif town.

Another anti-settlement protest was suppressed in Kafr Qaddum village, west of Nablus.

A number of protesters, including foreign activists, suffered breathing difficulties as a result of inhaling tear gas fired by the IOF and were treated in the field.
