Ebru Özkan's family told ILKHA the process they live

Following her visit to Al-Quds [Jerusalem], Ebru Özkan's detention period was extended, who was detained by the zionists at the Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv during her return to Turkiye on June 11.

Following her visit to Al-Quds, Ebru Özkan's detention period was extended a week said lawyers, who follow her case after she was detained by the zionists at the Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv during her way back to Turkiye.

In the hearing, which was seen at military court in the Salim Military District in the north of Palestine, it was stated the zionists demanded 9 more days for the detention period of Ebru Özkan, who was kept by the zionist invaders, and that the court decided to extend the detention period by one week.

As a result of the objections, Özkan was taken to the court on 26 June, but there has not yet been informed about the result of the court.

Özkan family told ILKHA about what they have been living since June 11, said they have never been able to meet their daughter during the last 16 days and that their daughter has been detained on the grounds of security threats. Added that the zionist is not even let her lawyer meet her.

Ayten Özkan, mother of Ebru Özkan expressed her daughter is very compassionate, said, "My daughter loves children very much. When she went there, she took balloons, chocolates, candies, crayons and drawing books with herself. Are these what threat the security of israel? Or did they find something in her bag?"

"I am really curious what is threatening the security of Israel? I want them to explain to us," asked mother Özkan by adding that there should be justice in a country regardless of their religion. "Even there is a hearing date for my daughter but they don’t take her to the court. There is also has a right to speak for a murderer but they don’t give the right to speak to my daughter. We haven’t heard from her for 16 days," she added.

"I hope my daughter will be the voice Al-Quds and Palestine"

Özkan, who said that they are trying to stand strong against the living, continued her speech as follows:

"My daughter is a strong believer and now she is ruined from thinking about us. I am calling to all the authorities and the President to find a solution for this issue. We are people who believe in the fate. I hope my daughter will be the voice of Al-Quds and Palestine. Ebru will go there if they detain one Ebru. We never leave Al-Quds and people in there alone. No matter where, we will be there if a person needs help, regardless of their religion."

"My sister was a security threat!"

Ebru Özkan's sister Elif Özkan also described her sister's detention period as follows:

"They ask my sister if she knows English or not on the way back. Then they intern her after she replies she doesn’t know English. Saying they will send her back by the evening plane but that's not happening. Two days later they took her to the court and the court is asking for a 24-hour delay. There is another trial on the next day but they do not take my sister to the court and the court has postponed again. Totally there are four times hearings. The last time the court was adjourned for another week. It has been announced that she will take to the court again in the objection it has made today. They arbitrarily postpone the hearing by the security threat pretext."

Saying that she informed by a friend of her sister, who was also in the tour, that her sister was taken into custody, Özkan added: "The people who we have talked in the embassy of Tel-Aviv and the lawyer says they have no information related to the decision and that the judge only knows. I have talked to many people from the authorities and I have been in contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I even conveyed to the presidency and they told that they are interested in the case. I believe that we have faced a state with no law. I even believe they have no a written law in their hands. Because they do everything arbitrarily. I even know even a murderer has a right to speak in a lawful state. They did now give this right to my sister. I do not understand what she did, and not being allowed to meet with her lawyer."

"Al-Quds should not be left alone in any case"

Özkan said that they would not leave Al-Quds to Palestine alone in any case, said: "First, it is a Muslim country; second, it is a place where oppressed people live. I am not saying this because they are Muslim people. Indeed, people there are under atrocity. We are ready whatever we can do."

"They establish a so-called state there and persecute people. They have owned there. They are struggling so that a Muslim should not go there. Because they are afraid of; if we go there, we will own there, so there is an energy to hold us together. That is why they don’t want us to go there. Because they figure us as a threat. I believe if Muslims were dominated there, Christians and Jews could go there more freely."

All they do are purely political

Things they do purely political, Özkan and added: "They want to give a message to Turkiye and Muslims. In particular, doing this on a Muslims woman makes it difficult, which they mean that 'we can even detain a woman'. They are doing this by giving a message to scare us."

Özkan said that she did not know how politics and bureaucracy worked until now, "I did not know about this until this time, I learned in this process. It was very complicated and hard work. I think politics and the President should involve in this case directly. Because my sister does not have any crime, she has no connection with any organization.
