Turkstat announced labor input Indices of the IV. Quarter, October-December 2018. Accordingly, the employment index fell by 5.6 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year.

Calendar adjusted employment index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors decreased by 5.6% in the fourth quarter of 2018 compared with the same quarter of the previous year.

When sub-sectors are examined; the industrial sector decreased by 1.9%, the construction sector decreased by 16.8% and trade-services sector decreased by 5.0%. Seasonally and calendar adjusted employment index decreased by 1.6% compared with the previous quarter.

When sub-sectors are examined; the industrial sector decreased by 1.2%, the construction sector decreased by 7.6% and trade-services sector decreased by 0.3%. Hours worked index decreased by 8.4% Calendar adjusted hours worked index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors decreased by 8.4% in the fourth quarter of 2018 compared with the same quarter of the previous year.

When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector decreased by 6.1%, construction sector decreased by 22.1% and trade-services sector decreased by 6.1%. Seasonally and calendar adjusted hours worked index decreased by 1.8% compared with the previous quarter.

When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector decreased by 2.0%, construction sector decreased by 8.5% and trade-services sector decreased by 0.1%. Gross wages-salaries index increased by 12.0% Calendar adjusted gross wages-salaries index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 12.0% in the fourth quarter of 2018 compared with the same quarter of the previous year.

When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 16.3%, construction sector decreased by 0.5% and trade-services sector increased by 11.5%. Seasonally and calendar adjusted hours worked index increased by 1.7% compared with the previous quarter.

When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 3.0%, construction sector decreased by 5.1% and trade-services sector increased by 2.0%.

Hourly labor cost index increased by 23.0% Calendar adjusted hourly labor cost index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 23.0% in the fourth quarter of 2018 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; the industrial sector increased by 24.8%, the construction sector increased by 29.0% and trade-services sector increased by 19.2%. Seasonally and calendar adjusted hourly labor cost index increased by 4.0% compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 5.4%, construction sector increased by 4.5% and trade-services sector increased by 2.5%. Hourly earnings index increased by 22.3% Calendar adjusted hourly earnings index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 22.3% in the fourth quarter of 2018 compared with the same quarter of the previous year.

When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 23.9%, construction sector increased by 27.6% and trade-services sector increased by 18.7%. Seasonally and calendar adjusted hourly earnings index increased by 3.6% compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 5.1%, construction sector increased by 3.8% and trade-services sector increased by 2.1%. Hourly labour cost excluding earnings index increased by 26.9% Calendar adjusted hourly labour cost excluding earnings index including industry, construction, trade and services sectors increased 26.9% in the fourth quarter of 2018 compared with the same quarter of the previous year.

When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 29.9%, construction sector increased by 35.9% and trade-services sector increased by 21.9%. Seasonally and calendar adjusted hourly labor cost excluding earnings index increased by 6.0% compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; the industrial sector increased by 7.0%, the construction sector increased by 8.0% and trade-services sector increased by 4.5%.
