Erdoğan makes examinations at Hagia Sophia Mosque
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made examinations at the Hagia Sophia Mosque, which will be opened for worship 86 years later, with the Friday prayer to be performed on July 24.
Erdoğan came to the Hagia Sophia Mosque from his residence in Kısıklı.
Erdoğan, who stayed at the Hagia Sophia Mosque for nearly an hour, received information from Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy and Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya about the initiatives carried out for the opening.
Erdoğan was accompanied by Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun, Minister of Internal Affairs Süleyman Soylu and President of Religious Affairs Prof. Ali Erbaş.
Erdoğan saluted the citizens while leaving the Hagia Sophia Mosque after his examination.
