Erdoğan's statement on "premeditated Khashoggi's murder" is on Western agenda
US President Trump found it very hard, while British Foreign Minister Jeremy Hunt said the statements raised concerns.
While Trump found "pretty rough" after President Erdoğan said, "Khashoggi was murdered in a planned operation", British Foreign Minister Jeremy Hunt commented as "deeply concerned".
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's remarks on the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi that the "Turkish investigators had evidence the Saudi writer was the victim of a premeditated 'savage murder' by a 15-man hit squad," have been widely seen in the Western media.
US President Trump, who commented on the issue, said that he found the words of President Erdoğan "pretty rough" and said, "I wanted to get all the facts on Khashoggi’s death at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul before agreeing with Erdoğan's assessment".
"Deeply concerned to hear President Erdoğan describe Jamal Khashoggi’s murder as pre-meditated. The world is still waiting for answers," British Foreign Minister Jeremy Hunt said.
Erdoğan's statements also found wide coverage in the western media.
