Explanation of "Patriot" and "Erbil airfield" from Turkish Foreign Affairs
Hami Aksoy, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that the opening of the airspace for direct flights to Erbil is on the table and he also stated that negotiations for patriot missiles continue with the US.
Hami Aksoy, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, answered the questions at the press conference held on Friday.
"We are considering opening the airspace for direct flights to Erbil," said Aksoy regarding the resumption of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region airfield on external flights.
"We are in touch with the Baghdad administration for a possible operation against northern Iraq," Aksoy said.
Expressing that undersecretary Ümit Yalçın will make a visit to Washington in the near future, Aksoy said that contact with the US is continuing regarding Patriot missile systems. (ILKHA)
