In Kirkuk, 20 people were wounded, including several Iraqi troops in two separate explosions Sunday in the area where ballot boxes were stored.

In Kirkuk, there were explosions in the vicinity of the warehouse where the ballot boxes were stored. Some 20 people, including a large number of Iraqi soldiers, reportedly were wounded.

According to the news in Rudaw, Kirkuk police spokesman Brigadier General Efrasyav Kamil  Veys stated that 19 people were wounded, including 15 security guards and 4 civilians in the bomb-laden car suicide attack near the warehouse.

Some 10 vehicles in the park were burned and damaged said Kamil. "The intent of the attack was the warehouse where the ballot boxes are stored, but the ballot boxes were not affected," he added.

Kamil also noted that two more bombed attacks carried out at night in different regions of Kirkuk and that there were no casualties in the attacks detonated by the remote control.

The Iraqi Parliament has decided to recount the votes of the May 12 elections on the controversial allegations and stated that the vote counting process will begin on Kirkuk on Tuesday.
