France to tighten security measures for "Yellow Vests"
French President Macron said he would take tougher measures against the Yellow Vest protestors.
Despite all the pressure and intimidation, "Yellow vests" in France do not give up on their protests and demonstrations.
President Emmanuel Macron, in his speech at the crisis table at the Ministry of Interior, said they would take extra harsh measures for gilets jaunes [yellow vests].
Macron said that the measures taken for the demonstrators have been insufficient since November while added that the demonstrators have committed crimes and that they will take on deterrent and harsh measures at this point.
While the number of protesters gathered across the country was 231 thousand, 5,000 police and numerous military vehicles said were deployed to the demonstrators in Paris.
The French police reported that 17 police and 47 demonstrators were injured in the recent demonstrations and that 100 of the 240 detained demonstrators were arrested.
Commenting on the events, French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner described the yellow vests as "killers", not as protesters.
