"German Tornado aircraft are unfit for NATO mission"
The Tornado-type warplanes in the German Air Force are not equipped with the necessary technical equipment.
It was stated that 93 Tornado-type warplanes within the German Air Force had no technical equipment to join NATO missions and that the aircraft had to be modernized as soon as possible.
According to the German weekly Der Spiegel magazine, based on the secret documents of the Ministry of Defense, the information and cable system of the Tornado-type warplanes, which came into service in the 1970's, is inadequate compared to today's technology. Tornados are said to have no cryptographic communication system and therefore do not have enough security to rest.
According to the report, Tornado warplanes do not have a friend-enemy recognition system that prevents NATO's request for the alleged firing of allied jets. It is stated that it is not possible to install this system until 2019 in Tornados.
