As in Ergenekon and Balyoz cases in Turkiye, people who have worked to overthrow the government publicly, have acquitted and receive compensation while Muslims who have been subjected to the persecution of Feb. 28 and FETO judiciary, continue to be imprisoned for years with unfounded accusations.

Muslims and their families who have been victims in today's Turkiye, in which the judiciary is committed in favor of the power, not in favor of the right, continue to wait for the days when justice to be provided for them.

Drawing attention to the dismissal of Ergenekon and Balyoz cases and the situation of Islamic prisoners that have been neglected, "A government, a state cannot apply a double standard. This is where the justice ends," said lawyer Cüneyt Toraman to ILKHA's correspondent about the victims of Feb. 28, during his attendance 17/25 December Coup Judiciary Symposium held in Istanbul.

"This could be compensated if it was material damage. However, we talking about freedom," said Toraman by underlining that more than 500 people are in prisons due to the caliper cases files by the February 28 coup process.

Noting that PKK members were released years ago from committing murders, lawyer Toraman said: "But people who didn't even touch the knife were sentenced to prison on excuses that they attempted to remove the Constitution and are still in prisons."

Expressing that those Muslims are still in prisons allegedly violating the constitutional order, Toraman noted that: "Forget about violating constitutional order, there are no even one single crimes of these people even in the context of ordinary meetings, demonstrations and freedom of speech."

Underlining that he has been in many cases of these Islamic prisoners, Toraman said he has a full of the knowledge of the files. "These people are innocent," he added.

"They buried these people alive"

"If a cat is trapped in a tree, the big fire department is going to save that cat. These people aren't worth as much as that cat," asked Toraman.

"These people have families, children, and relatives. They [authorities] buried these people alive. They have been buried between the four walls between concrete walls."

Saying that those people are non-dangerous people, lawyer Toraman underscored that these people were opposed the lawlessness, injustice, and cruelty. Oppression is bad no matter where it is. People should oppose the persecution everywhere," he added.
