Tiffany Enriquez and Kaulike Kalama, were shot and killed by suspect Jerry Hanel when they responded to a woman who had been stabbed at a residence around 9 a.m. local time, according to Ballard.

Ballard said that the house caught fire, and the suspect as well as two women who were in the home were unaccounted for.

"Authorities will continue to search for the shooter, but that it is likely that he was inside the home when it burned," she added.

The homeowner, Lois Cain, had recently sought to have suspect Jerry Hanel evicted, according to court records.
