Heartbreaking drama of 9 young men executed in Egypt

The torture of 9 young people, who had been executed last week in Egypt, while revealing the brutality of the junta regime, the words of the young men right before the executions broke hearts.

Nine Ikhwan [Muslim Brotherhood] members were martyred by Sisi's junta in Egypt, who was sentenced to death on the pretext that they involved in the bomb attack on top prosecutor Hisham Barakat.

Video records of Mahmoud Ahmadi, Abul Qasim Ahmed Ali and Abu Bakr Seyyid Abdulmecid, among of those 9 executed young men, unveiled where they explained the torture in the courtroom they had been exposed, which revealed the brutality and torture carried out by junta regime.

ILKHA compiled the short biography of the executed young people, the words before the execution, and the communication they had with their relatives.

Mahmud El Ahmadi:

 

El Ahmadi, a student of the Faculty of Translation and Languages of the Azhar University, was from the city of Sharqia in the east of Egypt.

Upon his return from the military, Mahmoud El Ahmadi, after learning that his brother Muhammad had disappeared, was detained together with his friend Islam Makkawi on February 22, 2016, in the courthouse where he went to apply for his missing brother in Cairo, and both were arrested.

El Ahmadi, after locked in prison, learned that his brother Mahmud had been in prison for three and a half months and that he and his brother had been charged on killing the top prosecutor.

The court rules the death sentence for El-Ahmadi while his brother Mahmud is sentenced to life imprisonment.

El Ahmedi's court speech videos spread over social media where he says about the confession of him and his friends had been taken under severe torture.

El Ahmadi's file is prepared with calipers and slanders such as, "He jumped over the wall between Egypt and Palestine, went to Gaza, he received military training from the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, for 9 months, by jumping back over the wall to Egypt, he planned assassination against Hisham Barakat."

Although El-Ahmadi said to the court that he was at the military service and he had finished his military service 3 months later after the prosecutor was killed and all these information can be taken from the military, the execution decision has not changed for him.

Abu Bakr Seyyid Abdulmecid

 

Abdulmecid, 26, living with his family in the eastern Egyptian city of Sharqia, was a senior student at Zekazik University Mechanical Engineering.

Abdulmecid, who was among those executed by the junta court ruling, wrote a letter to his mother after the court decision.

"Mum, if you hear the decision about me to be executed, do not feel sorry. O Allah, give the patience to my mother's heart that you had given to the mother of Moses. O my Lord, please protect my mum as she protected me and looked after me. O my Lord, give us patience," he repeated 3 times in his letter.

"I think the most honorable and the most I love are my mother and father. All I ask of Allah is that you be in a better position in this world and the hereafter. My wish is that the death decision about me will not cause a negative impact on your life," he wrote in this letter.

At the end of the letter, Abulmecid said his mother should not be upset after his death. "Everything is written in the sight of Allah, whatever He wills, it will happen. What is it that grieve mum for something that is the will of Allah? Allah does not waste the reward of those who do good, O my father! God bless you both. Do not worry about anything."

Abul Qasim Ahmed Ali

 

Ahmad Ali, 23, was a student at the Faculty of Islamic Calling at the Azhar University. He lived in the city of Aswan in the north of Egypt. One day, he was detained by police on his way home.

After being detained, he was subjected to severe torture. He has lost sight of right eye due to torture and hanging head down for 7 hours.

His family had not informed about his fate for about 15 days. Her family and relatives could hear from him on the television after the so-called confession videos taken by torture.

He threatened that his family would be arrested and killed if he does not confess the charges against him in the face of the cameras.

The evidence that "Ahmed Ali was not guilty" came from his mother to the court commission, that his mother said Ahmed Ali was in his hometown, Aswan, during the assassination on the top prosecutor.

Ahmed Jamal Hicazi

 

Cemal Hicazi, a 21-year-old student in the Faculty of Science, was from the city of Sharqia in eastern Egypt.

He also among the 9, who were sent to the death row by the court of the coup leader Sisi and the junta, who were the servants of the imperialist powers.

Ahmed Heysem El-Decevi

 

Ahmed Heysem, a student at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Ezher, was living with his family in the city of Sharqia, in eastern Egypt.

Ahmed Heysem, 25, was taken into custody at his friend's house in the Egyptian city of Medina-t Nasr on July 16, 2015. After being taken into custody, he had not been heard for two months.

His family reached information that he is alive after the so-called confessions videos on TVs.

One year after his arrest, Ahmed Heysem, who had not been convicted since then, was sent to the Akreb High-Security Prison, where only the death-sentenced prisoners are kept.

His mother sent a letter to the lawyers, saying that she was prevented from visiting her son and that his son was living under very heavy conditions in that prison, asked help from the lawyers.

In another letter from his mother, the following statements were said:

"On April 3, 2017, I saw my son at the police headquarters brought to the prosecution case. His health was not good at all. He was in the cage. He seemed exhausted because of his blood pressure lowered and diabetes. He also passed out sometimes."

"My son was kept in a single-celled room. His diabetes and blood pressure were lowering and he was always unconscious. He was there comatosely until the prison executives would bring him to court. They would try anything to wake him up on the day they would bring him to the court. When they couldn’t wake him up, they brought him by the ambulance to the court."

"He said he didn't feel the left side of his body because he was suffering from his left nerve vessels. 'The security forces have asked me not to tell anyone about my illness until the court has ended,' he told me once in the courtroom when I tried to talk to him."

Ahmed Mahrus Abdurrahman

 

Abdurrahman, who was a student of the Communication Department at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Ezher, was 25 years old and from the city of Beni Suweyf, north of Egypt.

Abdurrahman was abducted like his other friends and subjected to severe torture for 10 days. He was on trial for the assassination and murder of the prosecutor.

In his statement to the prosecutor, he stated that he had been detained from his workplace located in Hurdaga, Egypt. He underlined that he was at his workplace during the death of the prosecutor, gave 2 names who could witness that he was there during the event. However, the prosecutor never summoned those two names to testify.

Abdurrahman Suleiman Kahhush

 

Suleiman Kahhuş, 26, who worked as a pharmaceutical company representative, was from the city of Sharqia in Egypt.

Suleiman Kahhush, who finished her master degree in geology at the university, was preparing for marriage. He was the most hardworking among his friends in Islamic services and had the best morals in the eyes of people.

He was taken into custody on 13 February 2016 in the town of Dakahlia in the north of Egypt, where he and his fiancé went out for groom and wedding dresses during the wedding preparation. His family did not hear from him for a long time since he was detained.

According to the testimony of relatives; Kahhush, who was detained for a long time, was subjected to many torture and unlawfulness during his detention. In addition to being threatened with death, he was subjected to very heavy torture and electricity. He was locked into a cage where he could not move for a long time while her eyes were tied.

Suleiman Kahhush, who was accused of murdering former prosecutor Hisham Barakat, could not be heard for a long time after revealed in the court.

Ahmed Muhammed Taha Wahdan

 

Ahmed Taha, a 30-year-old civil engineer, is the son of Mohammad Taha, Vice-President of the Muslim Brotherhood Guidance Council.

Wahdan, who was kidnapped and detained five months after his marriage, was kept in Akreb High-Security Prison, which is located in the south of Cairo, which is known as Egypt's most protected prison.

Wahdan, one of those executed last week, was known by his photographs that his wife raised their one-month-old daughter, Leyla, in the courtroom.

In another trial, his wife Rana pointed her teeth, was trying to say that their daughter Layla grows teeth. In response to his wife actions, Taha Wahdan makes heart figure by his hands for his wife and daughter.

The emotional letter he penned for his daughter, Layla, after the death of Ahmed Taha and images of his wife in the courtroom have wounded people's feelings.

Ahmad Taha wrote to his little daughter Layla before the execution of the two-year dungeon and the tortures:

"Father's love, my only daughter... You must know very well that your father has never committed any crime. My concern was to protect you and leave you a homeland that would protect you, not a big prison. Please forgive me for I could not hug you for the last time and kissed your forehead. I will be waiting for you at the door of heaven where there is no saying goodbye and no separation. My precious, I love you."

Islam Muhammed Makkawi

 

Muhammed, a 23-year-old student at the Faculty of Education at the University of Ezher, sentenced to death and executed last week for the crimes he has never committed.

On February 22, 2016, he was detained at the Cairo Courthouse where he had come to ask the disappeared brother of Mahmoud Al-Ahmadi.

He was also accused of crimes, which like his friends, he was not committed, and then he was arrested and severely tortured in the Police Department.

His family learned after a long time that Islam was kept in a military camp. Islam Muhammad, captured under the pretext of killing prosecutor, during the proceedings of the prosecutor's office, he informed his lawyer that he is alive.

He was then sent to the High-Security Prison in Akreb and he was not allowed to see his family until July 2016.
