Hope Caravan continues humanitarian aid in Yemen
The Hope Caravan Foundation continues its humanitarian aid efforts to the people of Yemen.
Hope Caravan Humanitarian Relief Foundation [Umut Kervanı], which is continuing its aid in December without a break in January, continues to provide humanitarian aid to the people who are starving in the midst of the crisis in Yemen.
Speaking to ILKHA about humanitarian aid, General Director of Hope Caravan Foundation Cengiz Kurtaran said that 3 out of 4 people who are trying to live under difficult conditions in many regions are in need of all kinds of humanitarian aid.
"18 million people need humanitarian assistance or protection"
As a result of the internal turmoil in Yemen in 2015, Kurtaran pointed out that the humanitarian crisis has grown in Yemen. "We cannot forget the images of emaciated children. For this reason, we mobilized as a foundation to help the children there to regain their health, we delivered the food from donated by charities."
Stating that around 18,000 people need humanitarian assistance or protection, Kurtaran underlined that Yemeni people struggle to survive due to lack of food and health problems.
"17 million people cannot be fed enough and 8 million people are on the verge of death due to hunger. A child dies every 10 minutes. One of the places in the world where children have the highest rates of malnutrition is Yemen," Kurtaran said.
Call for help!
Renewing the call for urgent assistance, Kurtaran said that they had called for urgent assistance to Yemen, that the philanthropists had not been silent to the call for aid, they had donated their aid to the oppressed geography to the people who had struggled with the drama and hunger in Yemen.
