House sales declined 17.5 percent in July in Turkey

In Turkey, house sales decreased by 17.5% in July 2019 compared to the same month of the previous year and hence, became 102,236.

Turkstat announced its July 2019 residential sales statistics. Accordingly, 102,236 houses were sold in Turkey in July 2019.

For the house sales of July 2019, İstanbul had the highest share of house sales with 16.9% and 17,276 sold house.

The followers of İstanbul were Ankara with 9,491 house sales and İzmir 5,576 house sales with a share of 9.3% and 5.5% respectively.

The least house sold provinces were Ardahan with 10 house sales, Hakkari with 15 house sales, Şırnak with 66 house sales.

The mortgaged house sales throughout Turkey became 13,064 by decreasing 57% compared to the same month of the previous year.

House sales with a mortgage had a 12.8% share of all house sales in Turkey. Most of the house sales with a mortgage were in İstanbul with 2,143 sales. İstanbul was the first province in Turkey ranking that has most house sales with mortgage share with 16.4%. Mortgaged house sales had the highest share in Artvin with 24.1% of all house sales.

Other house sales in Turkey became 89,172 by decreasing 4.6% compared to the same month of the previous year.

In the other sales, İstanbul was the first province with 15,133 sales and a 17% share. Other house sales had 87.6% share of all house sales in İstanbul. Ankara was the second province with 7,914 sales. Ankara was followed by İzmir with 4,778 sales. The least other house sales were realized in Ardahan with 8 house sales.

First house sales in Turkey became 38,931 by decreasing 32.4% compared to the same month of the previous year.

First house sales had a 38.1% share of all house sales in Turkey. The most first house sales were in İstanbul with 6,709 sales. İstanbul was the first province in Turkey ranking that had the most first house sales share with 17.2%. The followers of İstanbul were Ankara with 3,035 house sales and İzmir with 2,012 house sales.

Second-hand house sales in Turkey became 63 305 by decreasing 4.5% compared to the same month of the previous year. In the second-hand sales, İstanbul was the first province again with 10,567 sales and 16.7% share.

Share of the second-hand sales was 61.2% in İstanbul in total house sales. Ankara was the second province with 6 456 sales and Ankara was followed by İzmir with 3,564 sales.

In house sales to foreigners became 4,192 by increasing 46.7% compared to the same month of the previous year. İstanbul was the first province with 1,903 sales in July 2019. The followers of İstanbul were Antalya with 764 house sales, Ankara with 249 house sales, Bursa with 217 house sales and Yalova with 177 house sales.Iraq citizens bought 734 houses from Turkey in July. The followers of Iraq were Iran with 464 house sales, Kuwait with 219 house sales, Saudi Arabia with 218 house sales and Russia with 215 house sales.
