HÜDA PAR calls on Islamic countries to take initiative in Libya

In its weekly statement on external agenda, HÜDA PAR Headquarters addressed the refugee problems around the world and the conclusions of the Second Berlin Conference on Libya.

HÜDA PAR stated that in the final declaration of the 2nd Berlin Conference, important calls were made for the establishment of stability in war-battered Libya, but no practical steps were taken for the stability of the country despite the summits held for a political solution.

“The Islamic countries should urgently take the initiative in Libya”

Underlining that the important calls were made for the establishment of stability in Libya in the final declaration of the Second Berlin Conference, where the country’s political process, elections, and security problems were discussed, HÜDA PAR said: “However, it is a great misfortune that despite the summits held for a political solution, no actual step has been taken for the stability of Libya. The transformation of Libya into a field of proxy wars for global powers is worrying for the Islamic community. In order to preserve the ceasefire in Libya, all foreign forces and mercenaries should be evacuated from the country, and deterrent steps should be taken to prevent the arms embargo from being breached. Political actors should be determined by conducting elections in a transparent manner under international control and during the ceasefire process. The political unity that will be formed in Libya will prevent the plundering of resources by global powers, and facilitate steps to be taken for reconstruction and re-stability in the country. It is important for Turkey, as a guarantor country, to take a role in the Libyan process. The Islamic community should urgently take initiative in favor of Libya so that it is not exposed to the fate of other countries where it cannot maintain its stability.”

“The conflicts in Yemen have caused a great humanitarian tragedy”

Pointing out that people are forced to migrate in groups due to occupation, cruelty, misery, and exploitation around the world, and that there is a large-scale refugee problem, HÜDA PAR went on to say: “The fact that people who become refugees travel under unhealthy and dangerous conditions results in drowning in the raging sea waters in some places. Like everyone else, we were deeply saddened by the sinking of the boat carrying refugees off the coast of Yemen on June 24 and the loss of 300 people's lives. Political instability and conflicts that have been going on for years in Yemen have caused a great humanitarian tragedy. According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, 4 out of 5 people (24 million people) in Yemen are in urgent need of humanitarian aid.”

“Humanity must find a solution to the problem of poverty and refugees as soon as possible”

HÜDA PAR concluded as follows: “The victims of the exploitation order that condemns the world to chaos are not only Yemenis. According to the data of the United Nations World Food Program, 41 million people who cannot reach humanitarian aid in 43 countries around the world are at risk of famine. All these are the results of the exploitation wheel that continues around the world. The world's need for peace and tranquility is clear as day. Humanity must find a solution to the poverty and refugee problem as soon as possible. It will not be possible for people to live comfortably and peacefully in their own homes until the existing wars and occupations are over.”
