Releasing a message on the 22nd anniversary of February 28 coup, HUDA PAR President İshak Sağlam noted that the effects of February 28, which brought great suffering to the public, are still continuing, emphasized the state memory has to be corrected, especially in order to erase these effects.

Ishak Sağlam stated that February 28 was the day when the values, freedoms, and will of the nation were targeted by the dark focus of the 90s. "The effects of the February 28 coup which continued as a process and caused great victimization to the public together with the hand government of the period are still continuing."

Sağlam emphasized that the February 28 coup should not be regarded as a "military intervention to the government".  "The fact that the impact of the February 28 coup is still continuing is due to the fall inaccuracies related to the definition of the process or to the methods to be confronted."

"February 28 was a coup against the values, beliefs, culture, and freedom of the people," he said.

"If the effects of February 28 to be deleted, the steps to eliminate all the consequences of grievances should be accelerated"

"The greatest destruction of this coup is the reversal of values and the blur of state memory," Sağlam said and further underscored that those who struggle to serve the people are marked as "terrorists", those who are part of the game played on the country, or those who are clapper are archived as "patriots".

"No institution, person or mechanism should be preferred to justice by putting forward the reflex of protecting the state"

"In order to prevent such dark scenarios from being played again, the rule of law must be ensured and the mechanism of justice must be kept alive in every facility," Sağlam said.
