Human traffickers are mostly from Europe
The European police organization Europol said 63 percent of human traffickers are European.
The European police organization Europol said in late 2017 that there are 65,000 migrants trafficked in the databases. According to Europol, these smugglers are mostly from the European countries.
By the end of 2017, Robert Crepinko, director of the center opened by Europol at the beginning of 2016 to combat smuggling of migrants in Europe said Europol has about 65,000 human trafficked in the database.
Crepinko stated that smuggling of migrants is worth billions of euros and is "still a growing business".
According to the International Organization for Migration [IOM], the number of immigrants and refugees going to Europe in 2015 exceeds one million, while the number is recorded as 390 thousand in 2016 and 187 thousand in 2017.
