The imperialist USA continues to ignore international law.

The international courts seeking to initiate an investigation into the events in the territory of the member states are under the threat and pressure of the United States. The last example was the International Criminal Court [ICC].

The International Criminal Court, which has jurisdiction to investigate war crimes, crimes committed against humanity and genocide rejects the inquiry into war crimes committed by the US during the war in Afghanistan, as a result of US pressure and threats.

ICC Chief Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda demanded an investigation into US war crimes in Afghanistan.

The court said in a written statement earlier that the US military and the CIA were to be investigated for war crimes for the first time, but the US threatened the court with sanctions.

The United States has announced that it will not issue visas to the staff of the International Criminal Court (ICC) or will cancel the visa of the staff, which has attempted to investigate or prosecute allegations of abuse of American soldiers in Afghanistan or elsewhere.

US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo on March 15, 2019, announced that the bans will apply to ICC personnel involved in the court’s potential investigation of US citizens and may possibly be used to deter ICC investigations against citizens of US allies. 

"I’m announcing a policy of U.S. visa restrictions on those individuals directly responsible for any ICC investigation of U.S. personnel. This includes persons who take or have taken action to request or further such an investigation."

"These visa restrictions may also be used to deter ICC efforts to pursue allied personnel, including Israelis, without allies’ consent. Implementation of this policy has already begun. Under U.S. law, individual visa records are confidential, so I will not provide details as to who has been affected and who will be affected."

Reacting to the rejection of ICC into the probe to investigate US war crimes in Afghanistan, "The US decision to put visa bans on ICC staff is an outrageous effort to bully the court and deter scrutiny of US conduct," said Richard Dicker, international justice director at Human Rights Watch.

"ICC member countries should publicly make clear that they will remain undaunted in their support for the ICC and will not tolerate US obstruction," he added.

After threats of the US, the ICC has rejected the request for an investigation while the decision of ICC has once again revealed that the international law is under threat of the United States.
