Iran's death toll from coronavirus rises to 17,190
Iran has reported 208 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 17,190, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Monday.
After 2,685 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 309,437 in the country.
There are at least 4,089 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, 268,102 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than, 2,508,418 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 693,149 with 18,254,455 cases and more than, 11,457,077 recoveries.
