Iran's death toll from Covid-19 rises by 65, the health ministry says
Iran has reported 65 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 58,751, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Thursday.
After 7,474 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,496,455 in the country.
There are at least 3,735 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than, 1,278,857 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
So far, at least 9,885,913 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has reached 2,367,122 with 107,937,021 cases and more than 79,985,547 recoveries.
