It is time for Washington to assess: Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu
"It’s time for Washington to assess who its real allies in the region are," Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said.
"Having YPG forces operating from Syria, just miles from the border of Turkiye, is untenable," said Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in a letter to American New York Times wrote on Syria and Idlib issue. Çavuşoğlu also added that it is time for the US to decide who its real allies in the region are.
Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu wrote a letter on the Syrian crisis and Idlib issue titled "A Looming Disaster in Syria" to the American New York Times.
Çavuşoğlu pointed out that the Syrian regime forces launch a bloody offensive on the last rebel stronghold in Syria, warned for a humanitarian disaster looms.
Noting that US' allies in Syria also support the Syrian regime offensive on the Idlib, Çavuşoğlu said, "New reports suggest that the Y.P.G., a terrorist group operating from Syria that has received arms and aid paid for by American taxpayers, has forged an alliance with Mr. Assad and is sending troops as part of a deal brokered in July to help him recapture Idlib from the rebels."
Ministers Çavuşoğlu also expressed that YPG is the Syrian affiliate ok the PKK, which the PKK designated as a terror organization by Turkiye, United States, and European Union.
