MIT carries out an operation in Syria

Turkish Intelligence Service caught 9 PKK members involved in killing 2 Turkish troops during the "Operation Olive Branch" conducted by Turkish Armed Forces against Syria's Afrin.

Governorship of Hatay announced on Friday that 9 PKK members involved in killing 2 Turkish troops during the "Operation Olive Branch" were caught and brought to Turkish by Turkish Intelligence Service [MIT].

In the statement made by the Governorate on the subject, it is stated that a Syrian nationality named M.C. identified as PYD/YPG member by the Gendarmerie Intelligence and Anti-Terror Fighting Units in the Syrian/Afrin Raco district on September 03, 2018. The mentioned person has taken an active part in the "constructing public order" work on behalf of PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG and also involved in intelligence activities before and after "Operation Olive Branch" in Afrin region said the Governorate.

The statement continued that the identified PKK member confessed the names those had involved in killing and kidnapping the bodies of Turkish troops first lieutenant Oğuz Kaan Usta and specialist sergeant Mehmet Muratdağı in the region of Ömeruşağı village on January 23, 2018.

It was stated that 9 PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG organization members who were found to be related to the event, including the other 5 PKK members, were arrested and taken into custody in Afrin.
