More than 12 tons of drugs incinerated in the oven

More than 12 tons of drugs seized in operations in Van, East of Turkiye, was burned in a thousand 1100-degree oven.

More than 12 tons of drugs seized in Van last year and this year, and kept in the judicial custody, were incinerated in the 1100-degree oven.

Murat Zorluoğlu, the governor of Van and Deputy Mayor of Metropolitan Municipality, talked during the burning process carried out at the cement factory in Edremit district, where intensive security measures were taken, stressed that they will continue to fight drugs successfully with effective measures.

Stating that there are 10 tons heroin and 3 tons cannabis among the burned 12 tons drug, Governor Zorluoğlu said, "Fighting drugs is one of the highest priority of President and the government's agenda."

Zorluoğlu stressed that they have achieved great success in the fight against drug with the efforts of security units and prosecutors. "In the last two years in Van province, very successful studies were carried out in the fight against drugs," he said.

Stressing that they have seized 6 tons of drugs in 2017 and another 6 tons in 2018 in the fight against drugs, the governor congratulated the security units for their works and hoped their successful work to continue.

Zorluoğlu said that about 13 tons of drugs were disposed of in accordance with the law. He said that the fight against drugs would continue successfully with the effective measures taken.
