NGOs in Elâzığ: Turkish recitation of adhan was changing the language of worship
Speaking on theanniversary of the Turkish translation of Adhan, NGO representatives in Turkey's eastern Elâzığ province pointed out that this mentality is trying to increase the pressure on Muslims whenever it has the opportunity.
88 years have passed since the adhan, which is one of the holy values of Islam and the loud voice of Muslims, was tried to be taken away from its original.
NGO representatives in Elâzığ spoke to Ilke News Agency on the anniversary of the implementation of the Turkish adhan, which is an imposition of the one party period in Turkey.
Hafiz Emrah Seçer, Chairman of the Universal Quran Studies Association, reminded that adhan is one of the principles of Islam.

Seçer said: "We know that according to the İslamic jurisprudence, a second adhan must be read even if a small space of the adhan is changed or its order is violated. When we look at the practices of Islamic armies, we see that they are standing near the place to be jihad when they come out in jihad and waiting for whether there is sound of adhan. If the sound of adhan is not heard or if there are different sounds such as bell or rattle instead of adhan, this means that the town did not accept Islam. This is the place of adhan in Islam. This is the place of adhan in Islam. The sky dome should be shaken by the sound of adhan.”
"They did a persecution that the French, Crusaders and Mongols did not do"
Describing how painful the persecution took place, Seçer said, "But a persecution after years ... A cruelty that the French did not do ... A cruelty that the Crusaders did not do ... Even the Mongols did not translate the adhan in Turkish. Maybe they did a great persecution by demolishing mosques and minarets, but they did not implement a project to change the adhan. In this geography we live in, a great persecution was made 88 years ago and our adhan was translated into Turkish. This is to change the language of worship. It is like saying to a bird and a nightingale 'you will sing Turkish'. Just as the sound of a nightingale, wind or river cannot be changed and everything has its own voice, Islam's worship language is Arabic, not Turkish. But the one-party period, the period of autocracy and the period of persecution have been involved in everything. Our mosques, scholars, prayers were intervened as well as our adhan. An unprecedented persecution has been committed. The name of this persecution is the persecution of saying to a nightingale 'You will sing Turkish for 18 years'. Thank Allah, this persecution ended in 1950. According to what our grandfathers told about that period, the imam, who could not hold himself in joy, read the afternoon adhan 7 times.”
Elâzığ IHH Representative Metin Kılıç: " We have serious duties in order this persecution to not to be repeated."
Elâzığ IHH Representative Metin Kılıç also reminded that the adhan under the name of "Turkish adhan" was removed from its original identity and applied for 18 years.
Metin Kılıç, Elâzığ IHH Representative
Kılıç, said: "Alhamdulillah, even though this ban has been lifted years later, it has caused serious damages in the minds of Muslims. We have serious duties in order this persecution to not to be repeated. It should not be forgotten so that this mentality cannot increase the pressure on Muslims when it has the opportunity.”
The President of the Ab-ı Hayat Foundation, Ersin Eryılmaz: "This practice had only one purpose. To break this nation's ties with Islam ..."
Ersin Eryılmaz, the President of the Ab-ı Hayat Foundation
Stating that many oppressions have been committed in the region we live in, Elâzığ Ab-ı Hayat Foundation President Ersin Eryılmaz emphasized that one of the oppressions was Turkish translation of the Azan-i Muhammed.
Eryılmaz, said: “Unprecedented practices have been carried out to break this Islamic nation from values that have dominated for centuries, distributing justice and making it the sword of Islam. One of them is the translation of the adhan from its original Arabic identity into Turkish. This practice had only one purpose, to break this nation with Islam, with the Islamic community in the Islamic region. Returning adhan to its real identity is important as much as returning Hagia Sophia to its original.”
Özgür-Der representative Erdal Zengin: "The impiety superstition will never give up its attacks against Islam"
Indicating that reading the adhan in Turkish is the product of a Western mentality, Erdal Zengin, the representative of Özgür-Der, emphasized that the aim is not the change of the text but the change of the original.
Erdal Zengin, the representative of Özgür-Der
He continued his remarks as follows: “One step before this was changing our Arabic alphabet. All Muslims, our ancestors and grandfathers were become ignorant overnight. They were turned into illiterate people and took away from the Quran. Therefore, this step ultimately drove the Muslims away from the Quran, religion and mosques. Those who have this structure, that is, the Western-origin mind structure we meant, tried to divide society. People were tried to be dragged into civil war. Because the adhan ın Turkish language was a serious step for them. Those who took this step at that time thought about the end and tried to move Muslims away from the structures they were in and westernize them. The superstition will never give up its attacks against Islam. One of the most important steps of this is the Istanbul Convention, which we are currently in and discussing.”
Invitation and Brotherhood Foundation volunteer Ferhat Nas: "The translation of Azan-i Muhammedi was an attempt to remove religious values from the memory of Muslims"
Ferhat Nas, the volunteer of Invitation and Brotherhood Foundation
Invitation and Brotherhood Foundation volunteer Ferhat Nas said: "About a century ago, as İsmet Özel's words," a voice that minarets were strange to "touched the minarets. In fact, this voice was the voice of both betrayal of Hagia Sophia and the translation of the Adhan-i Muhammad. The translation of Adhan-i Muhammed was an attempt to remove religious values from Muslims' memory and to break them from their roots. And praise be to Allah that those days have gone. 'Days were turning between people’, Allah says. A second issue is the change of our Hagia Sophia mosque to its original form. We saw this as a captivity and a betrayal of Fatih. The fact that Hagia Sophia recovers to its original is an indication that Masjid al-Aqsa will change one day to its origin and reach the place it deserves. As we got rid of the foreign sound that touches the minarets, we started to read the Adhan-ı Muhammediye again in the Hagia Sophia Mosque in accordance with the original. I praise to Allah for this”.
