Non-domestic producer price index rises by 39.60% annually in Turkey
The non-domestic producer price index (ND-PPI) increased by 39.60% annually and 4.69% monthly, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Monday.
ND-PPI (2010=100) increased by 4.69% monthly and by 15.95% in December of the previous year, by 39.60% on the same month of the previous year, and by 32.03% on the twelve months moving averages basis in May 2021.
Manufacturing increased by 39.61% annually
ND-PPI in two main sectors of industry increased by 38.90% for mining and quarrying, by 39.61% for manufacturing compared with the previous year.
The indices of main industrial groups; increased by 46.62% for intermediate goods, by 37.63% for durable consumer goods, by 30.25% for non-durable consumer goods, by 180.23% for energy, by 28.86% for capital goods, annually.
Manufacturing increased by 4.72% monthly
ND-PPI in two main sectors of industry increased by 2.69% for mining and quarrying, by 4.72% for manufacturing compared with the previous month.
The indices of main industrial groups; increased by 5.49% for intermediate goods, by 4.60% for durable consumer goods, by 3.24% for non-durable consumer goods, by 10.31% for energy, by 3.62% for capital goods, monthly.
Compared to general ND-PPI, the lower annual change observed in 18 subdivisions while 7 subdivisions were higher
The lowest rates of the annual increase in ND-PPI by subdivisions of industry were for other transport equipment by 18.43%, for basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutic preparations by 19.82%, for printing and recording services by 23.16%. On the other hand, the highest rates of annual increase in ND-PPI by subdivisions of industry were for coke and refined petroleum products by 180.23%, for basic metals by 60.66%, for metal ores by 58.73%.
Compared to general ND-PPI, the lower monthly change observed in 18 subdivisions while 7 subdivisions were higher
The lowest rates of monthly increase in ND-PPI by subdivisions of industry were for beverages by 0.86%, for basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutic preparations by 1.43%, for metal ores by 2.13%. On the other hand, the highest rates of monthly increase in ND-PPI by subdivisions of industry were for coke and refined petroleum products by 10.31%, for computer, electronic and optical products by 8.10%, for basic metals by 7.54%.
