Number of families in sit-in action rises to 50
The number rose to 50 with the Akdoğan family coming from Batman joined to the families whose children were abducted to the rural areas controlled by the PKK through the HDP.
The number of families whose children were deceptively abducted to the rural areas controlled by the PKK on various dates has risen to 50.
Families staged a sit-in protest outside the HDP office in Diyarbakır, a southeastern province of Turkey, accusing HDP [People's Democratic Party] deceptively kidnapped their children to be recruited by the PKK.
The families, mostly mothers, usually come from poorer parts of Kurdish society while their children mostly were under 18 when kidnapped.
The sit-in staged by families on September 3 with the participation of 3 families, has risen to 50 families following the participation of another family at noon who came from Batman province.
Mother Melike Akdoğan took part in the sit-in for her 14-year-old son Abdulkadir Akdoğan, who was kidnapped nearly a year ago, called on him to come back.
Painful mother Akdoğan expressed that she watched the families on television channels and came to join the action.
Mother Melike Akdoğan stressed that one year of his son will be completed after 3 days since he was kidnapped.
"I came here for my son. I want my son. They tricked my son, brainwashed him and took him to the mountain. He didn't come home after school," she said.
"So we looked for him, but we didn't find him," said painful mother, adding that she has missed her son so much, addressed him to come back.
