Obligation to hang crosses in government buildings in Germany

In Germany, crosses are forcible to be hung up in all public buildings in the Bavarian state.

The German Council of Ministers of the Bavarian state obliged the crosses to be hanged up to the entrance of public institutions across the state as of June 1.

It was stated that the decision taken by the state government, which took reactions, does not cover the buildings of the Federal Government institutions.

In the declarations made by the Greens, the Left Party and the Free Democratic Party, the decision was expressed criticizing the need to engage in daily politics of tolerance and love instead of dealing with symbols.

The Bavarian state had previously required the presence of the cross in public schools and court halls.

CSU President and German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer started discussions in German society with the words "Islam does not belong to Germany." (ILKHA)
