Occupation forces attack demonstrators in Khan Al-Ahmar: 35 injured

About 35 Palestinians were injured Wednesday when the zionist terror gang quelled a protest held in solidarity with the residents of Khan al-Ahmar village in Al-Quds which is threatened with demolition at any moment.

Some 35 Palestinians were injured after the barbarity intervention of the occupying forces in the Palestinians, who were gathered for support to the Khan El-Ahmar Bedouin complex, east of Al-Quds, facing the threat of demolition at any moment.

Palestinian Red Crescent Society announced that first aid teams were intervened to the 35 people who were injured by the occupation forces fires after the attack on the Palestinians gathered to support the residents of Khan al-Ahmar Wednesday at noon.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that four Palestinian citizens were transferred to hospitals for treatment while the rest were treated in the field.

Local media sources said that the occupation forces arrested 8 Palestinians in the attack and that the occupants were seen assaulting a Palestinian young woman, ripping off her hijab and dragging her on the ground before she was detained.

It was noted that the occupation forces violently attacked Palestinian activists and residents of Khan al-Ahmar as they stood on guard to occupation regime's bulldozers attempting to demolish the Bedouin village.

The occupation regime so-called supreme court in May ruled for demolishing Khan al-Ahmar, home to 180 Palestinians, under the pretext of being unlicensed.

Reaction from the EU

On the other hand, the European Union condemned the occupation regime in the call to stop the destruction in a statement on Thursday.

It said Israel's actions and its plans to build more illegal settlements in the same area undermined hopes for a two-state solution and a viable peace.

"In line with our long-standing position on Israel’s settlement policy, illegal under international law, and actions taken in that context, such as forced transfers, evictions, demolitions and confiscations of homes, the EU expects the Israeli authorities to reverse these decisions and fully meet its obligations as an occupying power under International Humanitarian Law," the statement said.
