Palestine: Sheikh Sabri urges Muslims to intensify presence at Aqsa Mosque
Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, head of the Higher Islamic Council in Occupied Jerusalem, has said that the Aqsa Mosque’s exposure to repeated and growing violations by Jewish settlers and police forces reflects the israeli attempts to take over the holy site.
In press remarks, Sheikh Sabri warned of israeli attempts to strip the Islamic Awqaf of its jurisdiction over the Aqsa Mosque’s affairs, adding that the zionist regime’s persistence in violating the Mosque’s sanctity would fuel the tension in the holy city.
He said that the occupation state would not stop its violations against the Aqsa Mosque and would continue to provoke the Muslims’ feelings because it feels encouraged by the supportive positions of the international community and the Arab normalizers in the region.
However, he expressed his belief that the Jerusalemites would not remain silent and would stand in the face of the Israeli violations, urging the Muslim worshipers across Palestine to intensify their presence at the Aqsa Mosque and support their compatriots in the holy city.
