President Erdoğan to attend NATO summit
President Erdoğan will attend the NATO summit in Brussels on 11-12 July.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will attend the NATO Heads of State and Government Summit to be held on 11-12 July 2018 in Brussels, the capital of Belgium.
President Erdoğan is expected to hold various bilateral talks with his counterparts due to the summit.
According to the explanation made by the presidency; it is planned to exchange views strategically about the tests on the Euro-Atlantic security, to review the steps being taken to adopt the NATO alliance against the existing security trials.
With the participation of Georgian and Ukrainian presidents, it is aimed to emphasize the strengthening of the business partnership of these countries with NATO.
Afghan President Ashraf Gani and Executive Committee Chairman Abdullah Abdullah will also attend, while NATO is expected to confirm support for Afghanistan and explain its allied contributions to Afghanistan.
The summit also stipulates that NATO's commitment to the Open Door Policy to promote peace and stability in the Euro-Atlantic region will be confirmed and that accession negotiations with Macedonia be instituted.
On the other hand, a decision is expected to be taken in order to launch the NATO Training Mission in Iraq.
