Prosecutor's astroturf football match enjoyment: 14 teachers detained
It was claimed that a Turkish prosecutor who came early to a carpeted field for his football match, forced teachers to leave the field then asked the police to detain them in Diyarbakır, a southeastern province of Turkiye.
The prosecutor, who came to the carpet field match in Çermik District of Diyarbakır an hour earlier, had 14 teachers arrested by calling the police.
According to the information, the prosecutor of Çermik, who wants to have a football match on the carpet field made a reservation for 22.00, while the teachers reserved the carpet field between 21.00 and 22.00 hours.
In the meantime, the prosecutor who confused the time of match came to the carpet field an hour earlier. The prosecutor and his friends tried to get the playing teachers out of the field.
Teachers who responded negatively to the prosecutor continued their football match.
Shortly after the teachers started the match, the prosecutor called the police officers for teachers' identification.
At that time, teachers who did not bring their ID cards together with them were taken to the District Police Department. The teachers, who were kept in the police station for about an hour, were then released.
Stating that Council of Judges and Prosecutors launched a review on the detention of 14 teachers, Turkish Justice Minister Abdulhamit Gül noted that the review of the board inspectors will be finalized as soon as possible within the framework of the rule of law, professional and ethical rules.
